Weigt Loss Wednesday

Well, I type this post this morning with mixed feelings. I'm sad, because the scale is only showing a .08 loss for the week. That's 2 tenths from being a pound....it's still a loss, but it's not what I want it to say, and it's not accurate. I'm optimistic though, because I know it's only reading that because of water weight. I stepped up my exercise into high gear, from almost no gear, and that's going to make your body temporarily hold onto water. As soon as my body gets used to the exercise and the water I'm drinking, it will let go of the excess water, and that number on the scale will go way down, and my loss number will go way up!

This week is going to be a challenge! I have to lose 3 pounds by next Wednesday to meet the goal that I had set for the month. That's more than I've lost in any given week so far this month. But, I think I can do it. I'm going to have to stay focused, and keep my eye and mind on the goal, but I really think I can reach it. I think I'm holding at least half that in water weight right now, so if my body will let go of that soon, I'll just have a pound and a half to lose. Plus, I am on a good exercise routine now and even though I'm not specifically counting calories, I am paying attention to about how many are in each meal and snack that I eat. Along with that, I have now set low, moderate, and high caloric intake days. This keeps my body guessing as to how many calories it needs to burn, so it won't shut down my metabolism. I've been very successful with this in the past! So, here's to 3 pounds and an awesome post next week!!

  2. I'm very proud of you nonetheless. A loss is STILL a loss and you need credit for that. Stay motivated! I heard yesterday on my walk on the radio that "It's not the end destination that matters but the journey along the way." I thought that was for-sure something to think about. We're on this journey together!! :) Hope you have a wonderful day!! ~Amy

  4. There's another thing you should remember: if you've bumped up your exercise routine you're gaining muscle, and that won't reflect as a drop in the scale, but it will show on your body. You'll start to feel your clothes get bigger even before the numbers on the scale get smaller. I think any amount of weight loss is a triumph, and it's much better (healthier) to lose weight slowly. You're doing fantastic, and with the Lord's help you're gonna get where you need to be.

  5. Getting healthy is the most important thing and our worth is definitely not found as a number on the scale. (I'm learning some lessons along the way too!) You're doing an excellent job treating yourself well with your healthy food choices and exercise! Keep up the good work!

  6. Weight loss can be a tough process. I'm struggling right now as well to get the last 10 - 15 pounds of baby weight off. It seems like every time I lose 5 pounds or so, I plateau for a month. Congrats on losing .8 pounds. I wish you the best in getting to your goal weight.

  7. Sometimes we tend to take risk of our own health just to lose weight, we fail to realize that the best way to be healthy is to discipline our selves and be cautious of what we eat and take.
