Project Organized Home

Well, last week I told you about how busy I was around the house trying to stay on my feet, and make my back feel better. One of the products of my business was finally getting all the wall decor up in the living room! The living room was the last room in the house to painted and decorated. I'm still not 100% done, but I'm almost there, and it looks better than it ever has before! It's the room that my husband spends the most time in when he's home, and it's where he sleeps most nights since he can't sleep in our horribly uncomfortable bed. So, I really wanted to get it looking nice for him. It's also the only room without carpet that my allergy ridden son can spend time in, so he needed a table and a space to call his own. He does his schoolwork in there, and plays with his cars and draws his Mommy pictures! The table beside the computer is his spot! I'm so happy to walk in this room and finally feel like I have made a clean peaceful and organized place for my family!

I still don't have all my pictures up on the wall below. The idea with this wall was to make a "frame" for my picture "frames." But, we took many of them down to put much needed bookcases in here, and now I need to pick my favorites and put them up around the bookcases.

I can't stand the t.v. tray in the picture below, but if it's not there, hubby will put his drink on the floor, and it will get spilled. Guess who has to clean that up? As much of a pain as it is sometimes, I love serving my hubby's needs and taking care of him. He takes good care of me!

The monstrous cabinet partially in the picture below, is our entertainment center. Probably my favorite piece of furniture in the whole house, and by far the best value! We bought it at a store run by a Spanish lady who sells new furniture that what damaged somehow and can't be sold by retail stores for retail price. On top of her good price, I waited to by it until she was having a 40% off sale! The only thing wrong with it, was that one of the doors was broken. So, I took off both of the doors and used one for a wall decoration in the first picture up above! I wish I could show you the other wall, but that's where the french doors are, and it's hard to get a good picture during the day. I'll have to get one at night, and show you the other wall. There's not much to see...just a gun cabinet, laundry room door, french doors to the backyard, and the front of the beautiful entertainment center.

Well, I hope you enjoyed what I've done this week to make my home more beautiful and organized! Come back next week for what I've done outside!

  3. I'm trying to figure out how you did the "frame" behind the bookcase. Is that wallpaper, or paint? It's very unique, just like you! I also love the homeschool area for your son. It's organized but also well designed without being distracting. Good job!

  4. Thankyou everyone! ~It's paint, Arlene. Three different colors. I used a sponge and glaze and did a faux finish to get the look. It looked really good when the whole thing was filled with nothing but pictures. Now that the bookcases are there, I don't like it as much. I'm hoping that when I get more of the pictures back up, I will like it as much as I did before.
