Don't Worry

Am I the only one who worries about a fellow regular blogger, when they don't post in a while? Well, if you are like I am, and was worried when I went AWOL, don't worry...I'm okay. It's just been a crazy week. Last Friday night, my friend and neighbor brought his daughter over for me to watch, because his wife's father had a stroke, and they needed to go the hospital. He died a few hours later. The funeral was Saturday, and the whole family is taking it really hard. They were a close family and it just breaks my heart that death has to be a part of life. The good news..the wife and the pastor are convinced that he was saved, so praise God for that! I just pray that those in his family who weren't (and I know of several) will use this as a wake-up call, and realize that if they want to see him again, they will need to accept Christ as their personal savior.

Then, when not with my neighbors, I've been painting...that's why the new background on this blog. Have you ever woke up and just decided that something had to change?! Well, I do more often than I'd like to admit, and that's what happened this week. I had wanted to do something different with the dining room for quite some time, and I've done a little thing here, and a little thing there...but it wasn't working. I woke up one morning, walked into the dining room, and decided that today was the day to fix the whole thing. I went to the store and bought paint and painted the whole room. I also bought accessories and changed curtains and went the whole 9 yards. It took me all day every day, but it's finally done. All the way done, and I'm so happy with it. I can't wait to show you pictures tomorrow. I'm sure they won't do it justice, but you'll get the idea. More tomorrow!

We also spend Monday together as a family. Hubby got the day off for 4th of July, and so he had his first "weekend" in months. We took full advantage of it, and went fishing! I'll have pictures of it on my private blog later, for those of you who have access to it. It was so nice to spend the day as a family...so nice. Sorry about being "missing" this week, but there was just too much going on to write. I hope you'll forgive me!

  1. I was actually going to email you to see if everything was alright, when I got your comment. I'm praying for your neighbor and her family. It's hard to lose a family member, but thank God we have hope in Christ. The separation is only temporary. I pray the unsaved will realize this and turn to Jesus.

We had a wet and rainy 4th of July, but as long as we're with family it doesn't matter. Glad you got to spend it together as a family too. Looking forward to seeing those pictures!

  2. I am sorry to hear about the friend's father's stroke and ensuing death. But God is still in control, as you know, and will use that to His glory.

I think we need to stop suggesting to people that God is a great option for a 'life improvement plan,' and start telling them about their sinful condition, the penalty, and that they need to run to the Rescuer while there is yet time.

Blessings. Glad you had a great weekend with your family! :-)

  3. You are so neat! I can relate to alot {actually most} of what you wrote. I'm sorry to hear about your friends passing. I hope all who are involved may find comfort in the Lord! I completely understand about waking up and having the feeling about wanting something changed. Good for you to be able to redecorate when you get those feelings {my hubby doesn't mind when I change things around, to him it's more homey}. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished dining room! Blessings to you, faithful blog friend! ~Amy :)

  4. Glad to hear that you are okay and have just been busy. Lately, I go through seasons of having lots to say and then nothing at all.

I'm glad that you had some extra family time. Can't wait to see photos of your dining room.

I have had a rough couple of weeks... I'll fill ya in as soon as I can. I have family (lots of family) coming to visit for the week starting Sunday, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to write.

Have a wonderful week my friend!

  5. Yeah, I do worry about missing bloggers. When I have not heard from a neighbor or friend in a while, I can call and make sure everything is okay. However, with someone you know only from the blogging world, there is simply the loss of contact and no one to find out what is going on or if everything is okay. (I don't have any suggested "fix" for that problem; I just note that it exists.) Have a wonderful Sunday!
