The Simple Woman's Daybook~11/16/10

To read more daybook posts, or link up on of your own, go over to Peggy's blog, "The Simple Woman's Daybook!"

For Today~ November 16th, 2010

Outside my window~ The fall colors are at their peak! Because of the weird weather, we lost a lot of leaves before we reached this point, but what's left is just beautiful! It's kind of neat though, because it makes the ground just as colorful as the trees, with all those brightly colored leaves on the ground.

On my mind~ my hubby. Today is his first day of work on the new job. I pray he has a good one!

I am wearing~ you guessed it, pj's! The colder it gets outside, the harder it is to want to put daytime clothes on!

I am going~ hopefully no where today. We have a busy week this week, and today is the ONLY day that I don't have something scheduled. Definitely hoping to take advantage of that and stay home.

I am thankful for~ all the food we bought yesterday. The kids are so happy to have yogurt, cookies, fruit and cereal again! Thank you Lord!

I am hoping~ that the kids keep sleeping in this morning. It's been so nice having quiet time so far today! I love my little blessings, but with no hubby now to relieve me for a while, my nerves are on edge. :)

I am praying~ that God will find us a house in Kansas soon. I am also praying that we will find another wonderful piano teacher for my oldest son. She and I cried last night at his last practice. What a blessing that God gave us such a wonderful teacher for my son!

From the learning rooms~ we have un-enrolled my oldest from his online school, and I will have him continue with his Switched On Schoolhouse that he started at the beginning of the year. Mr. Pure at Heart is plugging away at his ACE paces.

From the kitchen~ I think hot dogs and beans for lunch, and I'm still debating about dinner. Probably going to let the kids vote!

Around the house~ more laundry, dishes, and packing, packing, packing!

A few plans for the rest of the week~ we have church tomorrow night, dress rehearsal on Thursday night, and then the actual Thanksgiving play in Friday night. I am really looking forward to that! Otherwise, we will be....you guessed it...packing!

From my picture journal~

This is my Kousa Dogwood in the front yard. It's a lot bigger than it looks in this picture. I'm standing way up on the front deck and our yard sloped down. Man, I wish I could take it with me!

This is the view out my front door. I'm so thankful the Lord let me see all these colors one more time before we move!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

For Today~November 9th, 2010

Outside my window~ the sun is shinning brightly again. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful not to be freezing, but this 90 degrees, 35 degrees, 70 degrees thing is driving me crazy! Make up your mind weather! lol!

On my mind~ my brother. It's his 22nd birthday today! He is so special to me. He was just a precious little brother, the best any sis could ever have. Now as he grows in maturity, he's only neater, and more dear to my heart. I do pray that we can be closer in distance one day, so that I can see him more. I'm so proud of him for what he's accomplished and overcome in his life so far. He's got such a pure heart, and it shows in everything he does! Happy birthday little brother!

I am going~ to church tonight. The kids are putting on a Thanksgiving play, and tonight is their first "official" rehearsal. I'm hoping hubby will be able to watch, since he will most likely miss the play.

I am thankful for~ you know it would take me all day to rattle off this list! God is so good, I just don't have the words! I will so though, that today I am especially thankful that He gave us the means to get our Suburban running finally! I just can't believe it's fixed. I want to climb up on top of a mountain and shout praises to my Heavenly Father!

I am hoping~ that hubby passes all 4 sections of his EPA exam this morning. I'm also hoping (and praying) that the Suburban stays running well. It will make me feel better about him driving it across the country this week!

I am wearing~ my pj's still. It is cold enough though, that I have my soft, pink zip up robe on as well.

From the learning rooms~ major decisions have to be made here in the next few days. Please pray with us for God's wisdom!

From the kitchen~ Chicken or Steak?...I haven't decided yet. We've been so blessed with people giving us food over the last few weeks, we have not gone without!

Around the house~ laundry, laundry and more laundry! I have pulled out every piece of clothing we have in the house. I'm washing it all, going through it, deciding what to get rid of, what to pack, and what to keep in the closets for a while. It's such an overwhelming task, but we need to get it done!

A few plans for the rest of the week~ I'll be packing hubby's bags today. He plans on leaving Thursday. We'll have to pack him enough stuff to stay for a month, in case he does get this job. He'll be going through his tools, and deciding what to take with him. I need to think if there's anything else I need him to do for me before he leaves. Once he's gone, we'll be cleaning and organizing. I am hoping he will be able to tell me by Saturday if he got the job or not, and then if he does get it, we'll be packing, packing, packing!

From my picture journal~

Words cannot express how much I will miss Georgia if we have to leave. I love this place, and it will always be in my heart!

The Simple Woman's Daybook~11/2/10

Visit Peggy's blog to read more daybook posts, or link up one of your own!

For Today~ November 2nd, 2010

Outside my window~ more leaves are falling to the ground. There's a breeze today, and it's quite cool for Georgia in November. I think our high today is only in the 50's. My boys are playing badminton with the neighbor boy from next door. It's a nice moment to watch!

On my mind~ oh, it would take me all day to tell you everything that's on my mind. My mind is currently on Kansas though, and I keep thinking about what it would be like to live there again.

I am hoping~ that hubby will have his final interview tonight with the company in Kansas, and we will get some much awaited answers about the near future!

I am wearing~ hubby's navy blue sweatpants, and my favorite winter top. It's navy blue, baby blue and white striped, with a navy blue hood on it. I don't ever use the hood, but it sure makes the shirt warmer! I'd be doing even better if I'd get some socks on my feet...my toes are frozen!

I am going~ nowhere today! I am finally starting to feel better. I've been coughing up all this junk out of my lungs and going out in the cold would be a horrible idea!

I am creating~ ideas. At this point, that's all I can create! lol! My house is a mess, and we are not starting any projects until we know which state we are going to live in!

From the learning rooms~ we are kind of on hold right now. I've been so sick, we haven't done any schoolwork with the younger one's. My oldest is doing about half of his work, but if we are going to move, we will have to change his curriculum again. Poor guy. Good thing we've kept the curriculum he started with this year. He likes it, and he can pick right back up where he left off a month ago!

I am praying~ that I will get completely over the flu, so I can get the other two blood draws that the doctor wants. No more answers on that front, until they get done and the results come in.

From the kitchen~ lots of deer! We've had deer steaks, deer sloppy joes, deer burgers, on an on! I'm so thankful that hubby has gotten two deer already, and we are able to use that meat when money is so scarce right now!

One of my favorite things~ hot chocolate, a warm blanket and a great football game! I love Sunday's in November! Our favorite NFL teams are doing really good this year too...makes it even better!

Around the house~ it's pretty quiet today with the boys outside and the girls watching cartoons. Lunch is about ready, and then we'll focus on laundry!

A few plans for the rest of the week~ haha. I don't have any now. I thought I did, but the Lord showed me that He truly holds tomorrow in His hands! lol! After the rescheduled interview last night, this is the first verse I read in my bible today...

"Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." Proverbs 27:1

I just had to laugh. I've never read that verse before, and I couldn't believe that's what God lead me to first thing today! :-) He certainly was precise wasn't He?! I hope we will have answers tonight, but I am truly surrendered to the Lord on this matter now, and I will take things one day at a time..doing what I can each day.

From my picture journal~

My mother made me this beautiful jewlrey set. There's earings, a bracelet and two necklaces. I absolutely love them! Thanks Mom!

Simple Woman's Daybook~10/5/10

Head over to Peggy's blog to read more Daybook posts, or link up one of your own!

For Today~ October 5th, 2010

Outside my window~it's cool! It's finally cool outside. I'm so happy. I had to grab my sweater to sit on the porch with my coffee and bible. I love that....I've missed that throughout this long, hot summer!

On my mind~ my appointment with the Mercy Clinic administration today. I'm praying, really praying that we will meet their income guidelines. I am more than ready to see a doctor for the first official time in over 3 years. I want this diagnosis, but may the Lord's will be done!

I am wearing~ my favorite pj's that pass off for clothes. Black with tiny white polka dots. The top has a wide strip of white lace at the bottom, and the straps are white lace with black ribbon strung through them. So cute!

I am going~ to the clinic late this afternoon. I'm also picking up the new Karate Kyd movie from Redbox. We're excited, we've been waiting a long time to rent it for $1! Sure beats theatre prices doesn't it?!

From the learning rooms~ we are doing great with the new curriculum! It's a controversial curriculum, but I think it's absolutely awesome and I feel like it was made just for us! It's a lot more work, but we are loving it, and finding ways to still get everything else done!

I am creating~ a spectacular creation for my friends baby shower, and I can't wait to show you pictures after the shower is over!

I am reading~ just my bible right now. I'm fixin to start reading Dave Ramsey's books though.

From the kitchen~ menu plans again. I need to make them to stay on budget with the groceries, and remember what's in the cabinets and deep freeze! Sometimes I buy stuff for meals, and forget it's there, so I buy more groceries when I don't need to.

Around the house~ cartoons, schoolwork, washer & dryer going. Typical day!

A few plans for the rest of the week~ cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, and organizing! I feel like it's a lifelong process that will never truly be complete. As long as we're headed in the right direction, I guess that's what counts. I really need to finish painting the hallway too. I stopped half way up the stairs because I don't know how I'm going to reach. We need to find a solution and finish! Hubby says I'm the Queen of half finished projects...sad but true. There is just so much going on and so much to do!

From my picture journal~

A glimpse of our day Saturday at the free "Faith Fest!" Our local Methodist Church does everything they can to make as much of it free to the public as possible. I'm so thankful for that! The kids had an absolute blast, and I needed the day away from the house, and all the responibilities and stress. These bounce houses were HUGE and it was so fun to watch the kids play all day!

The Simple Woman's Daybook

If you would like to read more Daybook posts, or link up one of your own, head over to Peggy's Blog!

For today~September 21, 2010

Outside my window~It is still cool and almost crisp! Fall for us, is just around the corner. The grass is wet with dew and the birds are having a heyday!

On my mind~ There was no work for hubby to do today. Praying the Lord will provide. My oldest is going to spend the day with his dad and another man, building a shed at the hunting property that we have a free lease to. Hopefully, that will distract hubby from being worried about not working.

I am going~ to go get some paper towels and tp today. Maybe some milk too, if I have enough for it. Other than that, I hope it will be a quiet day at home!

From the kitchen~ If the lettuce is still good, I'm going to make homemade tacos tonight! That's one of our favorite meals. It's hard to make a meal that 6 people all love, but tacos will do it!

I am reading~ Intimate Issues. Thank God for people who are willing to talk about what so many won't! It's a real help!

I am wearing~ pj's still. The cooler it gets outside in the morning, the harder it is for me to crawl out of jammies! After I finish my coffee, I'll go find a skirt and shirt and officially start the day!

I am thankful for~ a God who cares and answers prayers! Part of the blessing of saying a prayer, is knowing that we serve a God who has the power to answer them!

I am creating~ a new workspace for myself and a new study place for my oldest son. He is starting a new curriculum that is very involved, so we have to get ourselves and our space ready!

From the learning rooms~ They are a complete mess right now. Like I said, we have been moving desks and adding storage, and organizing, all while trying to keep doing school work with the younger kids! AAAHHH! This too shall pass... :-)

I am hearing~ my little one's playing peacefully upstairs. They get along so much better when the oldest is gone. I don't know how long this will last, but I'm treasuring the moment!

Around the house~ so quiet...very unusual! Soon, the dishwasher will be going, the washer and dryer will be running, the cartoons will be playing and Mr. Pure at Heart and I, will be learning!

A few plans for the rest of the week~ *Try and finish the school areas and the dinning room itself. *Catch up on laundry. *Sell something on eBay to help with income for the week. *Put out the rest of the fall decor. *Type up testimony for bible study group.

From my picture journal~

My new "mums the word" flower bed! I'm so happy with it! I can't believe how well my 50% off mums are looking! They should come back large and in charge next year! On the other side of the bed, is the neighbors property and house. On this side of them, we will eventually have pavers and gravel, for a little sitting area next to our house. I love it!

For Today~ September 14, 2010

Outside my window~ The sun is shining with all it's might, and I LOVE IT! Sun shining days make for happy and productive days for me! The boys have been outside racing their remote control trucks in the driveway.

From the learning rooms~ We took a late and relaxed approach today. My oldest doesn't have too much to do, since we will be switching his curriculum very soon. I am so excited about soon having a central school location for everyone in the dinning room!

I am thinking~ about how great God is a working things out and bringing things together! His ways are truly above ours!

I am going~ to go pick up a movie later. I love reserving $1 movies online through Redbox, and then going and picking them up at the machine of my choice! So cheap, so easy!

I am wearing~ My pj's that I can get away with wearing as clothes! My next door neighbor commented on them last week, and told me how cute my outfit was..it took me a minute to decide to disclose the truth about them! Hehe :)

From the kitchen~ probably Cornbread Chicken Pot Pie if I can remember to get the chicken out and thaw it. I finally got the dishes done. I'm glad I waited until this morning to do them, my back is better, and I think it would have been worse if I stood crouched over at the sink last night.

I am reading~ Intimate Issues by Linda and Lorraine. One of the best books I've ever read so far!

I am hoping~ To get a whole lot more laundry done today! I got 4 loads instead of 3 loads done yesterday, so that makes me very happy!

Around the house~ Laundry, of course. More moving and organizing in the dinning room. I got some inside fall decor out yesterday, and was smiling when I remembered how pretty it all was! I was worried about the fall colors working in the now living room since I put the burgundy and green couch in there, but it's working, and I'm happy!!!!!

From my picture journal~

Decorating Tip From Better Homes and Gardens...
Look for a variety of interesting shapes and colors of gourds. When you have collected a diverse assortment, fill a wooden tray with your unique finds and place it on an outdoor table for an easy fall display.

The Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today~ September 7th, 2010

Outside my window~ there is a little ground squirrel reeking havoc in the neighbors tree. He is upsetting all the birds and having a marvelous time doing it! It's so quiet outside in the morning, I love it! It's the only time you can notice little things like this!

On my mind~ the yard. We are still trying to decide which side of the house to park vehicles, and which side to make a sitting/playing area.

I am going~ nowhere today, I hope! I have a lot I want to get accomplished inside the house now!

I am thankful for~ the cooler temperatures we are having. It still hasn't been below 80 during the day, but that's a big improvement. Plus, it's finally cooling off considerably at night, so the mornings are getting better. I LOVE sitting on the porch with my coffee in the crisp, cool morning. I'm so ready to do that again!

I am reading~ Intimate Issues. A book on how God intended married women to be godly and sensuous all at the same time. We are not supposed to be divided in this. I think it's a great book and covers all the questions that we have, which a lot of pastors and older women won't touch.
Right now I'm reading Proverbs in the mornings for daily devotion.

From the kitchen~ I think today I will make Chicken and Cornbread Pie. It just sounds good to me this morning. We got the white chocolate covered pretzels done yesterday, but today we need to the chocolate ones.

Around the house~ Laundry, schoolwork, trash, toilets and tidying up a bit!

From my picture journal~

Some of my mother's beautiful handmade jewlery! Well, that's it for today. Short and sweet. I figured it was better than no daybook post again this week! If you would like to read more or link up one of your own, head over to The Simple Woman's Daybook!

Simple Woman's Daybook-7/27/10

Well good Tuesday morning to you! This post takes me so long, and I've noticed that I haven't gotten one up in a while. I was up early this morning though, and already knocked a few things of my list, so I'll atempt one today! For more daybook posts, go to Peggy's Blog and enjoy all that you have time for!

The Simple Woman's Daybook-July

For Today...July 27th, 2010

Outside my window~ the grass is breathing a sigh of relief from the rain yesterday, and begging for more. The heat has been so bad this year, and the grass is trying to die early. It may get it's wish though, because there is more rain in the forecast today.

On my mind~ Everything that needs to be done for our trip in 11 DAYS!

I am thankful for~ the Lord giving a friend at church a healthy baby boy, this past Friday. When we first moved here, it was just her and her husband, and now they have two little boys! God is good!

From the learning rooms~Trying to decide if we should start on the 2nd like we had planned, and the public schools in our county are, or if we should wait until we are back from our trip. Either way, I'm going to be getting it all put together and organized this week. I can't believe I have a 5th grader this year!

From the kitchen~ ahh, my beautiful and clean kitchen! I think we are going basic tonight with turkey sausage links, mac n' cheese and mashed potatoes. I am spending the remaining days leading up to our trip, eating everything we can out of the cupboards, fridge, freezer and deep freeze. It will save money, and I will have less food that will go to waste.
I am wearing~ an almost hot pink shirt and brown gauchos. They are perfect for busy days around the house, because they are technically pants, but they are loose and flowy like a skirt.

I am creating~ packing lists for our trip, so that we don't forget anything in the last minute craziness!

I am going~to a dear friend's house for a lunch date. Can't wait! The kids enjoy themselves just as much as I do. They don't need kids their own age to play with to enjoy themselves. They just love having someone who loves them, and is friendly and takes real interest in them. Most of their fun stories, aren't what they did with their friends, but what some of the older fun gentlemen and ladies joked with them about after church!

I am reading~ Disciplines of a Godly Woman, Bringing up Boys, and I have Bringing up Girls in the mail right as this very moment!

I am hearing~ the kids argue over what they are going to watch on Netflix this morning. This is an every morning routine. It's hard to find one show that will make all 4 kids happy. I must admit, I love Netflix instant streaming video though. We use it through our Wii console, and I go online and pick movies or tv episodes that are appropriate for them, and put it in a queue. Then they can turn on the Wii, go to Netflix and select what they want to watch from the queue right on the television screen! Just great!

A few plans for the rest of the week~ oh goodness, how I can I just list a few?! *Laundry, laundry and more laundry*packing lists*suitcases out*last minute vehicle maintenance*mow and trim the yard*haircuts*I could go on and on!

From my picture journal~

For the most beautiful pictures of my home state that you will ever see, go to this website, and stand in awe of God's beautiful work!

I tell you, we are so close now, I can hear the mountains calling me! It's been 6 years since I have embraced their beauty and sheer tranquility. I AM SO READY!!!!!!

The Simple Woman's Daybook

To join in on the simplicity, head over to Peggy's Blog!

For Today...June 22nd, 2010

Outside my window~ the heat is beginning to build up. Summers here are so hot and humid. That's great for hubby's business...not so great for me and outdoor time. I have to water plants early in the morning, or late at night. All shopping really needs to be done before 11:00am even earlier if possible. Kansas was the same way though. I miss Colorado ever summer!

I am thinking~ of how I'm ready to be well again. The bad colds really knock me out, day and night.

From the learning rooms~ just summer state history and reading!

I am going~ to make some calls on our broken washer, and maybe to the used appliance store if necessary...otherwise I'm not going anywhere because of the reason stated above!

I am currently reading~ Disciplines of a Godly Woman.

I'm looking forward to~ our trip in August that is still lingering in the balance.

From the kitchen~ooo, that reminds me, I need to grab some chicken out of the deep freeze. We're having chicken fajitas tonight!

I am thankful for~ this weight coming off of me. I feel so much better already!

I am hoping~ that the Lord will provide us with a way to fix or replace our washer without taking money saved for our trip. I can't believe this, my washer is only 2 years old. Maybe it's just too small to keep up with the demand I put on it!

I am wearing~ not much...I just weighed myself and needless to say, I don't like to be wearing 2 pounds of clothes when I do! I had better get dressed before the kids come downstairs.

I am praying~ for a washer, a good doctor appointment for Mr. Pure at Heart on Thursday, several friends, and a whole lot more!

Around the house~ well, certainly not laundry today. I got a lot done yesterday, and I hope to get the bathrooms cleaned today and pick up my bedroom a bit. Maybe pull out some more garage sale stuff.

From my picture journal~

Our special Father's Day dinner. Pizza Pasta Casserole, Garlic Bread, and Peanut Butter Brownies! Yes, I had some of everything! Yummmm!

The Simple Woman's Daybook-6/15/10

For Today, June 15th, 2010

Outside my window~ It had apparently rained last night, because the window is wet, and so is the ground, but the sky leaves no lingering signs of such activity. The sun is shining beautifully in a clear blue sky. I'm sure that means a hot and muggy day for us once again.

I am thinking~ my thinker hasn't started working yet!

From the learning rooms~ We are done! Hooray! However, my oldest son showed us clearly yesterday, that he can't go a whole summer with nothing to do. So, he will be doing Florida State History paces from A.C.E. and several A Beka readers. I'm going to pick out a few stories for him to do book reports on as well. He's excited about it though, because it's different from what he's done this year, and he thinks it will be "fun learning!"

I am going~ to take two of my kids to the doctor. My poor two who are always sick it seems. That's the worse part of being a mom of little one's, is having to watch your dear sweet children suffer and having little you can do to fix it.

I am currently reading~ Disciplines of a Godly Woman & a study on the letters of Paul to the churches.

Looking forward to~ our trip in August, if the Lord allows! Still not sure if it will be Kansas and Colorado, or just Kansas.

From the kitchen~ focusing on keeping it sparkling clean! Since we are on summer break, keeping up with the dishes after each meal, is pretty easy!

I am thankful for~ my husband. I really truly am. For more reasons than I could list here.
I am hoping~ that the doctor can help my son, especially.

I am wearing~ a dark blue jean skirt from CATO Fashions, and haven't decided on the shirt yet...I'm still wearing my pj shirt.

I am praying~ for healing for my son's allergies and cough. Salvation for several family members of friends, so many things. I'm glad I serve a God who is able!

Around the house~ a lot of sorting to get things ready for a garage sale. Lot's of organizing and de-cluttering!

From my picture journal~

I'm already wanting another trip to the Georgia Aquarium!

Simple Woman's Daybook~5/17/10

Head over to Peggy's blog, The Simple Woman's Daybook, to read more daybook posts or to join in the simplicity yourself!

For Today, May 18, 2010...

Outside my Window~ We started out with blue skies, but the clouds are rolling in fast. I hope it does rain. The humidity has been awful and we might as well get rain with it. Then I won't have to water my outdoor plants either!

On my mind~ a dear friend of mine who just lost her mother. Unimaginable. If you get the chance, say a prayer for her...her name is Gina.

From the learning rooms~ we are taking a break this week, so we can finish moving all the kid's rooms around. So, that will delay our finish for the year, but I'm okay with that. After our break this week, we will have only two weeks left!

I am going~ to get these rooms done! So that means I had better not be going anywhere!

I am currently reading~ Finishing up Created to be His Helpmeet.

From the kitchen~ something with chicken today I think. If I had thought to thaw it out last night, I would have stuck some in the crockpot this morning with rice. But, it will probably be BBQ chicken in the skillet tonight. One of my favorites!

I am wearing~ my favorite jammies. They are a capri pant and tank top set...black with little white polka dots. They could almost pass as daytime clothes, but not quite!

Around the house~ Well, you already know this one. More painting, and more furniture moving. Plus, I need to get some dishes and a load of laundry done. The boys are going to have to pick up the slack from me being tied up upstairs, and clean the bathrooms, living room and dining room.

From my picture journal~

My very first mums that made it through the winter and bloomed. They have always been killed by late frost, mowed over, or we have moved before they could grow and bloom for me. I'm so excited! I can't believe how early they are blooming! I've never seen mums bloom this early in Colorado or Kansas!

If you know what kind of tree this is, please tell me. I put the riding toy in the picture to show you the scale of it. Below, is a closer look at the leaves. These flowers will die soon, and it will just be the green leaves. I don't know??

Simple Woman's Daybook~May 11th Edition

Visit Peggy's blog, The Simple Woman's Daybook, for more great daybook posts or to join in yourself!

For Today....May 11, 2010

Outside my window~ the grass needs cut, but hubby is a busy man right now. If I wasn't allergic, I would gladly do it for him. My unknown tree in the middle of the front yard is blooming now, and it's just beautiful. One day I hope to find out what kind of tree it is!

I am thinking~ about how in the world I'm going to lose this weight when my back won't allow me to exercise. I'm just going to have to be really, really careful about what I eat, and walk every chance I get!

I am thankful for~God's patience with me. If He had my patience, He would of given up on me decades ago. I feel like I have learned so much, but know that I've only barely begun to tap into the knowledge and Wisdom He has to offer me. I have an entire lifetime of learning to go still! I'm also thankful for the wonderful Authors He has placed out there, and the wisdom He has given to them to share with me and others. I have grown so much through their books, with the Holy Spirits help. I'm oh so thankful!

I am wearing~a light pink tank top and black capri sweatpants. After I finish this, and read my bible, I will get dressed for the day.

I am going~to possibly have to make a trip to Walmart. I don't like going there, and I try to wait until church days, so I don't waste gas and can do it all in one trip, but that may not work this time.

I am currently reading~Created to be His Helpmeet by Debi Pearl. I think this is the BEST book I have ever read. To be honest, I don't want to be finished with it. That's why I am pacing myself. It has helped me beyond words, and I want to still read more every day. In fact, I may come back and reread it a little bit at a time for years, just to keep it fresh in my mind. I have found my life's purpose in this book!

I am hoping~to go to Kansas and Colorado in August. We are really praying, and really trying to go. How wonderful it would be to see both our families in one big trip! Mike's mom is not well AT ALL and he is going to go see her whether we can all go or not. I'm really hoping it will be all of us! On my side of the family, this may be the last time that the whole extended family can be there together. They are having an 80th birthday party for my Grandma and they want all the kids, grandkids and great-grandkids to be there. I pray the Lord would allow us to be there. Some of you remember that they tried to do it at Christmas, and I was the only one not there... it broke my heart.

On my mind~ My 6 year old son has not been helped by his recent trip to the allergy specialist. He changed his meds, and it did him no good at all. He still coughs all day long and his eyes were so irritated that he got allergy conjunctivitis in both his eyes. Thankfully it went away in just a couple days without medicine, but still. My heart aches for him. I can't stand not being able to make him better. I am praying that the Lord would show us what to do. A different specialist, or wisdom for his current one, to do and find the right help for my dear, sweet son.

Noticing that~it takes me a LONG TIME to do this post every week. I hope I can keep it up.

From the learning rooms~3 weeks to go! It's not that I want to be done, I'm just excited for next years curriculum! I'm sure that when they're all older, I'll be happy and exceedingly ready for summer break. But as for now, I love teaching and don't want a break! Plus, my boys get in trouble when they don't have something constructive to do! Good thing I have reading planned for the summer!

From the kitchen~Nothing exciting. Our budget is so tight as we try to save for the trip, I'm not really getting creative in the kitchen. Simple filling meals, is what we're after!

Around the house~Lots to do. I have to finish my list from yesterday. I had several interruptions in the day yesterday, and I just sat and enjoyed hubby last night. So, I'll be working on that list today! The kids are currently cleaning the dining and living room. Well, except Miss. Piggy. I hear her in the bathroom, probably soaking her hair in the sink!

From my picture journal~

My mother did these. One is an actual oil painting, and one is a framed print of a section of an oil painting she did. It's titled "Lean On Me." My Grandma has the original painting, and one day it will be passed down to me. The girl in the first painting is me! My mother painted this after I was saved. It's me walking from the darkness, into the light. What a joy it is for me to look at this painting. I know my mother poured her whole heart and soul into it. I hope for it to be passed down to one of my daughters some day! Anyway, I had to show you where my artistic talent came from!

For Today...May 4th, 2010

Outside my window~the birds are having a field day out there this morning. All the rain we got yesterday brought those worms to the surface and the birds are enjoying a feast! Boy, if you're ever having a bad day, just be glad you're not a worm...they usually wind up being eaten by a bird or fish bait!

I am thinking~ that this rain has made my weeds grow overnight! Hubby's going to have to mow the lawn before the weekend. I wish we had a cheap and easy way to kill these weeds and get good grass growing. When we had the drought in Georgia, you couldn't water the yard, and that meant you couldn't plant seed. So during those years, many yards got overtaken by weeds. I don't want to use harmful pesticides to kill them either, too many kids and dogs in the yard. Our yard is so big, that we can't afford to use the more expensive, but kid and earth friendly week killers. I guess I'll have to just look the other way! I'll enjoy my flowers and trees instead!

I am thankful for~ God's Holy, precious, Word. It is there for me all the time, it is faithful, even when I am not. It lifts me up, encourages me, instructs me, and disciplines me. My life is not very joyful when I fail to be in God's Word every day. It's something I struggle with, but am really trying to overcome. I'm so thankful that God gave it to us, and that we live in a country where we can still read it at our own free will!

I am wearing~ a black polyester shirt and a mid-calf black skirt with white, gray and blue flowers. Very comfy, and very pretty! I don't have any shoes on right now, but if the need arises, I'll put on my black flip flops.

I am going~ hopefully no where! I have a lot I want to do today still, and this evening, the Biggest Loser will be on. The ONE AND ONLY show that I allow myself to watch every week. I don't like to miss it!

I am currently reading~ Created to be His Helpmeet, by Debi Pearl. One of the most convicting but absolutely necessary, books I have ever read. I wish they would hand out this book to every Christian couple, or Christian wife when they get married. I certainly should have been following these biblical principles years ago!

I am hoping~ that the Lord will work it out for us to go to Kansas and Colorado in August. We haven't seen hubby's parents since we left Kansas almost 3 years ago. His mom is in horrible shape, and we really want to get the grandkids there for her to see. It would be such a blessing for her. And in Colorado, where I grew up, my Grandma is having her 80th birthday party and they are trying desperately to get the whole family there to celebrate. I was the only one at Christmas that wasn't there for that, and I don't want to be the only one who's not there for her birthday party. It's so important to me, so I'm really praying. You never know when your last chance to see someone you love is. It may be the last time we are all together as an extended family.

From the learning rooms~ only 4 weeks left! How exciting! We are nearing the home stretch and I'm already looking forward to next years curriculum. One day at a time, I must remind myself!

Around the house~ busy! Laundry, mopping, organizing, cooking, schoolwork, cleaning! And we'll try to throw some playing in there somewhere!

From my picture journal~

I want to try to do somemore of this as a family. It's been almost a year since we fished as a family, and we've got the fever! Guess I should of been having a field day with the worms this morning!

The Simple Woman's Daybook

Go to The Simple Woman's Daybook for more Daybook posts! Peggy would be happy to have you!

For Today~April 13, 2010

Outside my window~GREEN! It's beautiful! The leaves are back on almost all of the trees, and the beautiful green color that Georgia is known for, is finally back! I moved my computer to a desk in my bedroom, and literally all I see out my front window, is green trees of all sizes and shapes, green grass, sunshine and birds! How glorious!

I am thinking~that I really need to finish painting the front deck now that the wasps and pollen have settled down a bit!....I can see part of it out my window too...needs to be finished!

I am thankful for~God's beauty outside, and wonderful Christ honoring music that can lift up my spirits and make for a great day, even when I wake up grumpy.

I am wearing~a nightgown still. Does that surprise you? I'm working on some daytime clothes, I really am.

I am going~absolutely nowhere today! I am going to enjoy Home Sweet Home today. No piano lessons for two weeks, no doctors appointments, no plans....except to enjoy our home, get caught up on schoolwork and housework!

I am currently reading~my spare time is limited to Bible reading, and learning more about the supplements I am selling, and using.

I am hoping~to get a lot of laundry done today...hubby really wants it all caught up.

On my mind~I think I may have a cavity that is going to be a hole in my tooth if not taken care of. We still don't have insurance, and can't afford a filling without it...so the tooth may just have to be pulled out one day. I'm trying to leave it all in the Lord's hands, and not fret. I just keep thinking about it, because I've had a hole in my other back tooth before, and it got infected and caused me GREAT PAIN. I just don't want to go through that again.

Noticing that~what we did in the front yard this past weekend really made a difference. I'm still shocked every time I step out the door or pull up in the driveway! A nice shock!

From the learning rooms~getting started again this week, after a long spring break. Only 6 more weeks to go to finish the school year!

From the kitchen~nothing exciting. Just some BBQ chicken today, and some cornbread...wait...that is kind of exciting!

Around the house~so much to do. Laundry, moping, dusting, sorting. One step at a time!

The Simple Woman's Daybook~3/30

Please, join in on the simplicity! Head over to The Simple Woman's Daybook!

For Today~March 30th, 2010

Outside my window~ The sun is making it's glorious morning debut and my dogs are barking at everything that moves this morning. I'm sitting in front of my large kitchen window, and can see the whole backyard. Those dogs are so goofy. I can also see beautiful little buds forming on the trees!

I am thinking~ the wheels are spinning that good yet!

I am thankful for~ My husband and all his many, many abilities, and his love and faithfulness for me. I always know that he's got my back...without a doubt. That's the way it should be!

I am wearing~ A cap sleeve burgundy babydoll shirt, and a 3 tier long black skirt.

I am remembering~ How long it takes me to post this daybook! I enjoy it though.

I am going~ NOWHERE today...Lord willing! Sometimes it's just good to be home!

I am currently reading~ Not much, I'm really trying to put my time into our projects.

I am hoping~ to finish all of our spring projects in the next two weeks!

On my mind~ So many things...just keep praying for us!

Noticing that~ Spring took a really long time to get here this year. I'm hoping we don't skip it and go straight to summer!

From the kitchen~ Probably a chicken dish tonight, maybe with some corn bread. I've really got a plan don't I? lol I do know that I will be making tuna salad tomorrow after I finish up my natural lunch meat today. I'm really looking forward to the tuna salad...it's been a long time.

Around the house~ Things are finally starting to settle down. The kids woke up in a rambunctious mood. We have some regular cleaning to do, and we have some spring cleaning projects to get back to as well.

From the learning rooms~ They are doing their tests right now that will end the 3rd quarter of our school year. Only 8 weeks left! YAY

One of my favorite things~ A sunny spring morning!

From My Picture Journal~

First signs of Spring!

The Simple Woman's Daybook
For Today, March 15th

Outside my window~ The sun is shining the birds are singing their little hearts out. My youngest daughter and I were sitting in our vehicle during the church service last night, and we got to see a beautiful display of God's creation. The whole field beside the church was covered in birds. Then they would all fly up at the same time, into the trees. They would stay there for a minute, and then all fly back down to the ground. There were over a hundred of them, and it was absolutely beautiful!

On my mind~ I had a horrible day yesterday and don't want to go back to church for a while, so I could use your prayers. I know I need to be in church. I've had several bad experiences with some of the people in this church over the last two years, and I don't know if it's just Satan's way of trying to discourage me, or if the Lord is allowing it to happen as a way of showing us that it's time for us to move on to another church. I know you will find people that treat you wrong everywhere you go, but there are other issues besides just that, that my husband and I are praying about. This church has been a real blessing to me and my family, and especially the kids. So this is a really hard thing to even have to think about. We just want God's will.

From the learning rooms~ I had a whole week of heavy schoolwork planned so that we could take a week off at the beginning of April, but one of my dear son's just threw up all over the kitchen floor, so my plans may be out the window. When one gets sick they usually all get sick. I had really hoped that we missed the stomach bug this year....bummer.

I am wearing~ a light maroon tank top and dark gray sweat pants. I was all geared up for exercising and cleaning...I guess the cleaning part is still in order!

I am reading~ Disciplines of a Godly Woman.

I am hoping~ That all the kids don't get sick. We just got over colds and I don't handle throwing up very well.

I am pondering these words~ Once again, you know they are at the top of my blog!

Around the house~ It is a Monday, so I still have lots of housework planned, and I am deciding on what I want to do for spring cleaning. I really want to pick a couple projects and actually get them done this year! I'm thinking the green cabinet (which is now yellow and beige) and the baskets in the kitchen need to be completely gone through and organized. Probably the closets would be the other project that I really want to get done for spring.

From the Kitchen~ Lots of chicken meals and hamburger helper. Not very healthy on the helper part, I know...but we are trying to round up money to fix the van.

From my picture journal~ I think I left you with enough of a visual for one day!

For Today, March 8th, 2010

Outside My Window~The sun is shining beautifully, and that makes me soooo happy! I can also see all the trees in my backyard that are waiting for their buds to start growing. Spring wants to come, it really does!

I am hearing~The birds happily chirping outside, my boys discussing how and why they are making their beds, and my little toddler is singing to herself upstairs...such a delight to hear.

I am thinking~of all I hope to accomplish today. I am trying really hard to start sticking to a schedule better. I know it will benefit the house, and everyone in it.

From the learning rooms~ trying to catch up after being "out of the office" for almost two weeks. We only got two days done last week. We need to do a GREAT job of getting school work done all this week!

I am thankful for~ my back feeling better. I can walk and sleep with very little pain now. I still have to wear the back brace to do any housework at all, but I'm thankful that I can do some at least! I can only stand at the sink for about 10 minutes at a time, but who wants to be there longer than that anyway?! lol

I am wearing~ my animal print pajamas, which are my favorite ones! That's why I am still wearing them...oh, who am I kidding... you've read this long enough, and you know me well enough to know that I'd still be wearing my LEAST favorite pajamas!

I am going~ certainly nowhere in my pj's!

On my mind~my weight and health. I've made some great changes, but it's time to take the next step just so I can still be moving forward. I'm trying to decide what that next step is going to be.

I am currently reading~ trying to decide which book to pick back up. I'll probably finish "Created To Be His Help Meet" and then go back to "Disciplines of a Godly Woman." I need some discipline.

Pondering these words~ I have a weekly quote on the top of my blog that lists what I am pondering for the week. Things that touch me and I hope will touch someone else as well!

From the kitchen~ IT'S CLEAN! I have an awesome picture of it to show you. I'll probably save it for Friday's post, but you'll get to see my new microwave I told you about a while back, and my new table and stools that I've been saving for ever since we bought this house! On another note, I'm trying to go back to making a weekly meal plan to schedule out our meals. At the very least, I want to have two days planned at a time.

I am hoping~ for beautiful weather this week! I want a hint of spring...really, really bad!

Around the house~so much to do. The usually laundry, dishes, vacuuming, mopping, general upkeep. And then I moved the girls back into one room...well, just their beds and a dresser in one room, and then all their toys are in the other room. I have to go through ALL those toys throughout the week. We got a good start yesterday, but that's all it was..a start. Mrs Piggy is happily sleeping in her own bed again, now that she's not by herself. The comfort of a sibling is beyond words!

One of my favorite things~A beautiful morning where you wake up refreshed, and positive about the day! Feeling like you can tackle it all! I wish everyday were like that, but they just aren't. Today is one of those days, so I'm happy!

From my picture journal~

I couldn't wait! I had to give you a looksy. It's not the best picture, and I haven't cleaned up everything in the background, but you get the idea. I got them at a great price, and it's just what I wanted for this kitchen! I couldn't have found anything closer to what I had envisioned in my head. And it looks just like I thought it would in the room! I got them for a steal even though they are brand new. I felt guilty buying them when our van is broke down, but we've budgeted money for the van next month, and I've been saving a long time for these...it took me two years to save up $200. I was afraid that if I didn't spend that money on what I saved it for, it would hinder me from trying so hard to save in the future. So I am LOVING this table and stools, and that's what I'm typing on right now! I can see the kids playing in the backyard, and I can see my hubby working on the shed, when he's out there. It's such a blessing!
